We held the first program of our school focusing on commons on February 15-22, 2025 in Şişli, one of the largest districts of Istanbul. This program was only for participants who live and work in Istanbul.
We spent 8 days with 24 young participants from different political parties and civil society organizations; they had lectures on topics such as participation in local governments, politics of the commons, examples of new municipalism, economic dynamics in Turkey and the history of urbanization in Istanbul. We have conducted group projects on these topics.
European School of Politics organized the Winter 2025 Training Program in cooperation with Şişli Municipality and with the support of the Council of Europe, Swedish Consulate General, Mercator Foundation, Özyeğin Foundation and Vehbi Koç Foundation.
